When the Day Does Not Go as Planned
When the Day Does Not Go as Planned

“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”
— Psalm 56:3 (ESV)
— Psalm 56:3 (ESV)
Paul entered the temple hoping to address misunderstanding. His day ended with a beating and arrest. Yet God had not abandoned him. Soldiers arrived, stopped the attack, and preserved his life. Protection came with chains. Trusting God did not make Paul's hardship disappear.
Today's verse acknowledges fear and directs it toward God. Perhaps your interruption involves medical tests, unexpected expenses, or a strained relationship. Your mind races ahead to outcomes that have not happened. Bring today's need to the Lord. You do not have to understand the whole road to take the next faithful step. Make the appointment, tell the truth, or ask for help.
God often provides care through people. Receive their assistance. We may not understand every hardship, but Jesus' cross and resurrection assure us of His saving love. Tell Him what troubles you. Ask for wisdom. Your circumstances remain within the care of your faithful Lord today.

Pause & Reflect:
What fear is occupying your thoughts today? Which parts concern facts you must address, and which parts concern imagined outcomes? Take a moment to name the fear before God.

Put it Into Practice:
Write down one concern and one faithful action you can take today. Pray over both. If you need practical help, ask someone trustworthy rather than trying to carry the whole burden alone.

Pray:
Father, You know the circumstances I cannot control and the questions I cannot answer. I bring You my fear. Help me trust Your character while I wait for clarity. Give me wisdom for the next step and humility to receive help. Thank You that difficulty does not place me beyond Your care. Keep me faithful today, and teach me to rest in the Savior who died and rose for me. In Jesus' name, amen.
