Why He is Worth Seeking

Why He is Worth Seeking

Thursday

"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities — all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together."
— Colossians 1:15-17 (ESV)

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change."

— James 1:17 (ESV)

Reflect:
Amos calls Israel back to seeking the Lord not out of guilt, but because of who He is. He is the Creator who made everything and holds everything together. He is the Ruler — exalted above every rule and authority, raised and seated at the Father's right hand after His resurrection (Ephesians 1:20-23). And He is the Giver of every good and perfect gift, unchanging and faithful. Seeking God isn't a burden to carry; it's a response to a Being who is entirely worthy of being sought. Spend a few minutes today simply thanking God for who He is, not just what He's done for you.
Pray:
You are worthy, Lord — Creator, Ruler, and Giver of every good gift. I don't seek You out of obligation but out of awe. Help my worship flow from who You are. Amen.
