“For the Lord GOD does nothing without revealing his secret to his servants the prophets. The lion has roared; who will not fear? The Lord GOD has spoken; who can but prophesy?”

Notice the mercy hidden in these verses. Before God acts, He warns. The word “secret” pictures the inner circle of trusted friends, the place where private plans are shared. God does not ambush His people; He pleads with them through His Word first. The roar of the lion is frightening, yes — but a warned people is a loved people. When God’s Word convicts you, that conviction is not Him pushing you away; it is Him pulling you back before harm comes. Don’t resent the roar. Run toward the One who roars.
Prayer:
Lord, give me ears to hear Your warnings as the kindness they are. Don’t let me grow deaf to Your voice.
