Every Spiritual Blessing

Every Spiritual Blessing

Monday

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places." — Ephesians 1:3 (ESV)
Paul begins his letter not with instructions or corrections but with an explosion of praise. Before telling believers what to do, he reminds them what God has already done. This is the proper order of the Christian life: grace before duty, gift before responsibility. We don't obey in order to be blessed; we obey because we have already been blessed.

Notice the completeness of Paul's declaration: every spiritual blessing. The Greek word pasa means "all, the whole, each and every kind." There is not a single spiritual resource God has withheld from those who are in Christ. Your heavenly account has been fully funded. The wisdom you need for tomorrow's decision is available. The strength required for today's trial is accessible. The grace sufficient for your deepest failure has already been deposited.

Yet how often do we live as spiritual beggars? We plead for what we already possess. We worry about resources already deposited. We strain to earn what has already been given. Imagine a billionaire's child standing on a street corner with a cardboard sign, begging for change. How absurd! Yet this is precisely how many Christians live—unaware of their spiritual inheritance, scraping for pennies when their account holds unsearchable riches.
Today, let this truth transform your perspective: in Christ, you lack nothing essential for life and godliness. You are not waiting for God to bless you. He already has—with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.
1. In what areas of your life have you been living as though God's resources were limited or His grace insufficient?
2. How might your prayers change this week if you truly believed you already possess every spiritual blessing?
3. What is one specific spiritual blessing you need to draw upon today?
Father, thank You for blessing me with every spiritual blessing in Christ. Forgive me for the times I have lived as though Your resources were limited. Open my eyes to see the riches I possess in Jesus. Help me draw upon these blessings today—not striving in my own strength but resting in Your abundant provision. In Jesus' name, Amen.
