Worship in Spirit and Truth

Worship in Spirit and Truth

Wednesday

"But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth."
— John 4:23-24 (ESV)

Reflect:
At Gilgal, Israel had ritual without renewal — going through the motions of sacrifice and ceremony while their hearts stayed unchanged. Jesus tells us plainly that the Father isn't seeking people who simply perform religious routine; He is seeking worshipers whose spirit and truth align with His. It's possible to sing every song, say every "amen," and still miss real worship. True worship costs something — it asks for your heart, not just your habits. What would it look like this week to worship God with your whole heart rather than out of routine?
Pray:
Lord, I don't want empty ritual. I want real renewal. Teach me to worship You in spirit and in truth, from a heart that is truly Yours. Amen.
